The Little Crooked Bookshelf

SOPHIE'S TERRIBLE TWOS
by Rosemary Wells

What it's all about . . .
On the morning Sophie turns two, nothing is right. Not her birthday dress ("No pink!" says Sophie), not her fairy wings (that don't fly), not even her birthday breakfast ("No blueberries inside the pancakes!"). Luckily, Granny offers a solution in the form of a saber-toothed tiger suit, and Sophie becomes a true Terrible Two.

Why it’s on the Crooked Bookshelf . . .
Rosemary Wells clearly knows two-year-olds, and her empathetic take on them will make kids and grown-ups laugh out loud.

Our favorite lines . . .
Because that was the day Sophie got up on the wrong side of the crib.

Our favorite illustration . . .

Why kids will love it . . .
Because what kid wouldn't want to wear a saber-toothed tiger suit and scare all of the grown-ups in the neighborhood?

Why grown-ups will love it . . .
As most parents will attest, the terrible twos can only be survived with a heaping dose of humor--and SOPHIE'S TERRIBLE TWOS delivers it.
