  1. I'm still smitten with SPARKY! so I'll say sloth...

This looks like it might win me over to the dragon side though!

  2. Yes! What's more low-maintenance than a sloth? That's an ideal pet in our book. Thanks, Cathy!

  3. I've always wanted a pet Pig. If George Clooney can have one... why can't I?

  4. Mr. Pig....please stop giving me the silent treatment. I know you can hear me. Fine. I change my answer: My ideal pet is an iguana. Are you happy? Furthest in the world from a pig. *Sheesh*

    1. Did you not remember that you live with a well-dressed, sophisticated, eloquent pig who is certainly NOT a pet?! Sigh. OK, I forgive you. Hint: I would love a freshly baked cupcake for dessert tonight.

    2. You are all that and more, Mr. Pig. Clearly, I was thinking of other pigs... like Babe... or Wilbur. Never mind, one red velvet cupcake with butter-cream frosting coming up.

  5. Hmmm, my ideal pet... well considering 3 out of 4 of my kiddos are severely allergic to animals, our ideal pet would be something hypoallergenic. And since their favorite animals are capybaras, I'd have to saw a miniature hypoallergenic capybara ;) LOL

  6. Can't wait to read this book. I'd like a Woolly Mammoth as a pet.

  7. I am very, VERY fond of dragons. But, they are expensive to keep - they eat a lot, and even one tiny burp can scorch your furniture, so I'll settle, instead, for a naked mole rat. They are small and industrious diggers, can survive for a year on a single potato, and they live a long time (for a pet).

  8. It's silly, because it's totally attainable...I just have never had a dog and always wanted one! One day the timing will be right. :)

I totally love Steve Light's art...this book is gorgeous!

    1. Good choice, Renee! Loyal, obedient (mostly), and NOT a pig.
